Always Connected PC has received much attention from the industry since its release. Industrial chain representatives from China Unicom, Intel, Lenovo, Jasper, HP, Dell, Asus, JD and Fibocom gathered together to discuss the implementation and development of Always Connected PCs in China. According to research, approximately 30% of users carry their laptops at least once a week. So, to meet the demand for Always Connected PCs, enterprises in the PC industrial chain seek the innovation and cooperation needed to introduce Always Connected PCs as favored by users. At the conference, China Unicom and Intel announced their intention to conduct comprehensive cooperation in Always Connected PCs, doing so in consideration of aspects such as technology, service, channel, testing and expense. They will capitalize on their advantages in the respective fields and will jointly establish the Always Connected PC hardware platform so as to support more service content and build a standardized innovation service system for Always Connected PCs in China. Furthermore, China Unicom will offer high-data-traffic subsidies to the first 300,000 Always Connected PC users who subscribe to its services, thereby accelerating the development of the innovative application model of PC application in the Internet era while giving users the convenience of first-class Always Connected PC services. Intel enjoys a leading position in the PC industry. Its scalable R&D capability and the unique advantages of the X86 platform can reduce the cost of Always Connected PCs and thereby accelerate the industry's development.

As a partner in the industrial chain, Lenovo pools high-quality connection and service resources in its commitment to achieving LTE utilization in its product family and global market coverage by leveraging the advantages of terminal direct access and cross-network integration. As Dr. Martin Wang explained it, "Lenovo has a judgment on the development trend in PC: PC means 'personal computer,' and its evolution trend must be personalized computing + personalized cloud. Therefore, the PC has evolved from a personal computer to personalized computing + personalized cloud. Three years ago, Lenovo proposed its AOAC strategy, meaning 'Always Online Always Connected.' Two years ago, we built the world's first AOPC--Xiaoxin Air 12--together with China Unicom, Intel, Fibocom and other partners. It has built-in 48G LTE traffic service from China Unicom. In the future, Lenovo will continue to provide one-stop smart connectivity solutions in consumer and commercial laptops, and devote itself to penetrating the smart connectivity industry and scenario-based applications. Today, we've brought several LTE laptops from our ThinkPad family, and all of our product families, including the ThinkPads, will use LTE."

As part of the event, Lenovo spotlighted four LTE-empowered ThinkPad laptops: the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinkPad X280 and ThinkPad T480. After activating the mobile Internet service, users can connect to the Internet anytime and anywhere, with or without WiFi, and enjoy seamless smart connectivity. Dr. Martin Wang added, "What users need is service. All of us here today are big enterprises and big users. Together, we can change the world. Particularly in the PC industry, the manufacturers present today together hold more than 99% of the global PC market share. I sincerely hope we can work together to meet the needs of users and make AOPC a standard PC, so that users can enjoy the best experience."

Lenovo, one of the world's largest PC manufacturers, was among the first to offer LTE laptops. As the era of Always Connected PC rapidly approaches, Lenovo will continue to explore and deliver products and services across regions, devices, accounts, networks and boundaries. It will focus more on smart connectivity and work with partners as the means to accelerate the implementation and development of Always Connected PCs in China and provide users with smarter, more convenient services.
