Industry professionalism and scenario application

Given the rapid development of IoT, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, 5G and associated technologies, the Internet is moving toward the era of smart Internet. Martin said, "The core of intelligent interconnection is to let all kinds connect freely based on industry professionalism and scenario application. Therefore, device manufacturers should all be included in the smart connectivity network so that they can obtain user value through open cooperation and joint operation. We should also embrace traditional industries and seize the opportunities of IoT-empowered industrial transformation and upgrading."

It is in this context that Lenovo Connect IoT service comes into being. Its core is the self-developed Lenovo global smart connectivity platform, which provides one-stop IoT industry solutions covering connection management, device management, big data, cloud computing and AI services. It can improve operational efficiency, save costs, avoid risks and ensure intelligent iteration.

Currently, the IoT service delivers a full range of IoT capabilities from terminal-pipe-cloud software-hardware integration to services across regions and networks. There are successful case examples in smart travel, smart interaction devices and other industries, covering a wide range of application scenarios. For example, Lenovo has built V2X solutions based on ICBAG and cooperated with dozens of leading new-energy automobile enterprises, such as NIO and Xiaopeng.

Joining hands to create a smart IoT ecosystem

Lenovo Connect IoT has seen more than 10 million cellular connections in China, but the number will exceed 100 million in three years. The IoT service will be delivered in more than 80% of nations. Thus, in the future Lenovo will provide industry solutions that feature "terminal-pipe-cloud software-hardware integration" through a powerful, integrated pan-connectivity system as well as the optimization and integration of blockchain technology resources, thus enabling customers to achieve rapid innovation and efficient operation.

According to Dr. Martin, Lenovo has focused its efforts on smart IoT from the aspects of IoT, cloud, big data, AI and global service. Now, he said, the business also encompasses smart travel, smart interaction devices, new retail, sharing economy and other aspects. Consequently, the Lenovo Connect IoT service capability is open to partners, which are welcome to join the smart IoT ecosystem and jointly promote the development of the smart IoT industry.

From connectivity to management and service, Lenovo Connect IoT service represents a starting point. Lenovo will continue to fulfill its role as a contributor and motivator in the era of smart change.
